CitiBank Credit Card Offers – DEC 2011

CitiBank Credit Card Offers

Despite news this week of CitiGroup, the parent of CitiBank, slashing close to 5,000 jobs in the upcoming months, its credit card division continues to flourish. Blaming the cuts on “unprecedented market conditions”, it appears the conglomerate is banking on several new credit card offers, including the Citi Thank You card. Here are a few more of the current offers and promotions, courtesy of CitiBank.

Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature

This credit card offer comes with several perks, including 40,000 Hilton HHonors bonus points after spending $1,000 in your first four months of opening your account. Wondering what that equates to in terms of hotel stays? This qualifies easily for one night at any participating Category 6 hotel or three nights at a Category 2 hotel. From there, every dollar you spend with your Citi card at these participating hotels earns 6 HHonors bonus points. There’s no annual fee and with close to 4,000 participating hotels around the world, there’s no shortage of possibilities. Use your rewards points anytime, anywhere. No blackout dates completes this offer, making for a formidable opponent in the credit card wars.

Citi Simplicity Card

Perhaps its most popular card, CitiBank developed this offer to be both streamlined and fee-friendly. No worries about late fees or penalty rates and there’s no annual fee either. Enjoy 0% intro APR for purchases and balance transfers for 21 months. The extended intro period makes this Citi offer ideal for paying down balances you’ve transferred from other credit cards – which can amount to impressive savings.

Citi Platinum Select

Another impressive offer, the Citi Platinum Select comes with $0 liability on unauthorized charges, no annual fees and no shortage of online services. Account management, easy loan payments and a host of other benefits accompany this offer. You’ll enjoy a 0% intro APR for 21 months on both purchases and balance transfers. Keep in mind, however, the penalty APR can be as high as 29.99%, depending on your credit history. Late payment fees and returned checks will cost you up to $35. Check out the terms and conditions for more information on the applicable fees.

Citi Diamond Preferred

This Citi card offer has a 0% APR for your balance transfers and purchases for 21 months. There’s no annual fee, either. Card holders are privy to special access events, VIP packages and preferred seating at concerts and other live performances around the country. Also, Citi cardholders are offered impressive savings and other exclusive deals reserved only for Citi Diamond card holders. Zero liability on unauthorized purchases and the Citi Identity Theft Solutions adds another layer of protection.

Citi Gold AAdvantage World MasterCard

This co-branded offer combines two of the most recognized names in the world: American Airlines and CitiBank. The opportunities for bonus miles are many, including an additional 30,000 bonus miles after you spend $750 in your first four months. This easily qualifies you for a round trip domestic flight. The $50 annual fee is waived your first year and you earn (and accumulate) AAdvantage miles fast. No worries about expiring points, either.

Citi Forward for College Students

This card offer is built around today’s modern college student. It doesn’t require a co-signer and when young adults use their credit responsibly, they enjoy an APR reduction (always a good thing for college kids), not to mention the sense of accomplishment. 100 Thank You points are applied each billing cycle when payments are made on time and within the credit line. Thinking of the environment has its rewards, too. For those who sign up for paperless statements before the first ninety days of opening the account, they receive an additional 1,000 bonus points. This particular card offer is one of the most popular in the Citi family.

Also, be sure to check out the Citi Dividend Platinum Select for college students, too. It shares several perks with its Forward counterpart, but card holders earn cash back on their purchases at supermarkets, restaurants, convenience stores and even their utilities. It also requires no co-signer and designed with today’s college student in mind.

There are no shortage of CitiBank card offers. The variety is what attracts consumers and the customer service keeps them. The internationally recognized branding goes a long way in terms of consumer trust and loyalty. As always, be sure to carefully review the terms and conditions. Important information and disclosures reveal penalties, fees and repercussions of irresponsible credit management.
