Hotel Rewards Credit Cards

Hotel Rewards Credit Cards

With summer rapidly approaching, many families are preparing their annual vacations and other get-aways. Despite rising fuel costs, it’s believed Americans won’t necessarily be scaling back their vacations; in fact, many eliminated their escapes during the recession and are making concessions to offset those rising gas prices so that they can get away for awhile. So with that thought in mind, we thought it’d be a great time to take a look at a few of the hotel rewards credit cards.

Chase Marriott Rewards Credit Card

The Marriott has enjoyed great success with its entrance into the credit card game in recent years. It’s little wonder considering all of the bonuses and perks that come with the hotel chain’s offerings. After you’ve made your first purchase with the Marriott Rewards card, you’ll ear 22,500 bonus points.

Also, after you’ve applied for the credit card and are approved, you’ll receive a complimentary free night stay via e-certificate. Three points for every dollar spent at Marriott locations and one point per dollar is what you’ll earn for other eligible purchases (see the terms and conditions for what constitutes eligible purchases). Finally, you’ll enjoy no annual fee the first year and only $30 after that. This is an ideal choice for those who travel, whether for business or with the family.

Starwood Preferred Guest Business Card from American Express Open

We’ll be discussing the consumer credit card a bit further in the article, but the Starwood American Express Open credit card was designed for businesses and specifically, those businesses that require company travel. With the Starwood AMEX Open card, you’ll receive 10,000 Starpoints with your first purchase – and by the way, that’s worth a complimentary night at a Category 4 hotel. If you book your room in participating Sheraton hotels, every third night is comped. Your first year’s annual fee is waived and then you’ll ay $85.00 per year after that.

The APR is rather impressive too, though it will be determined based on traditional considerations. You’ll also be given access to the OPEN Savings Network and you’re upgraded to Gold Preferred status should you spend $30,000 or more in a calendar year. Travel and emergency assistance services round out this deal. This too is another fine credit card offer for businesses and as always, we encourage you to carefully review the terms and conditions. And if you do have questions, you’ll be happy to know American Express has a twenty four hour customer service team that stands ready to answer any questions you might have.

Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express

This gem is the sister to the AMEX Open credit card for businesses. It’s framed similarly to the AMEX Open, including 25,000 Starpoints with your first purchase. Your Starpoints can be redeemed at any of the one thousand-plus hotels cross one hundred countries. Further, you can also redeem your points for free flights. There are more than 350 airlines who participate in this particular program; as you can see, it’s pretty inclusive.

Your annual fee is $65, though your first year’s fee is waived. Other features include access to the Offer Zone, which provides credit card holders access to many retailers with substantial discounts. Auto rental insurance, medical referral services and up to $100,000 in travel accident insurance are just a few of the assurances you take with you when you use your Starwood Preferred American Express Card. No blackout dates, four or five Starpoints for every dollar spent at the participating hotels and every third night is complimentary at participating Sheraton hotels and resorts around the world.

It should also be noted this card won the Smarter Travel Editor’s Choice Award for Best Travel Awards Card for Domestic Use. Finally, you’ll enjoy 24 hour customer care assistance as well as real time online access to your account. This has consistently been a highly ranked card and the fact it has the American Express backing only sweetens the deal.

These are just a few of the impressive hotel rewards cards available as you gear up to start your summer. Compare the offers and then decide which one best suits your needs. Take notice of the terms and conditions before you apply and travel safely!
